Springbank distillery was founded in 1828 on the same site as Archibald Mitchell’s illicit still. Today, the distillery is run by the fifth-generation Mitchell family, with Hedley G. Wright, Mitchell’s great-great-grandson, serving as the chairman. Located in Campbeltown, which was once known as the “whisky capital of the world,” Springbank uses traditional methods in every stage of its whisky-making process.
